About Me

My photo
I just returned back to the States after 11 years in Taiwan with my daughter. Taiwan is an excellent base for us explore Asia, while living in relative (gun free) safety, while benefiting from a cheap and efficient national health care system. The people are amazing too. I have Taiwanese friendships that are 20 years old and I'm always making new ones! My coworker here in CO is from Taiwan.

Briny Bounty

Raiders and the curious pursue to poach what
Barren buccaneers return empty handed

Glowing gold arteries, silver veins, self-composure reigns
Underwater amethyst heart caves burning lava cools into hidden seas
Hissing out holy islands and shrouded sunken grotto silience

I wait on you like an entombed trove of treasure
Pleasures you’d excavate and never regret to uncover
The luminescent veil that separates one another

Once a lost fisherman lost his breath drowned like a bloated whale
Then a boy child, little seahorse, his father’s favorite
Waded in with the undertow, like an accident
Peeked at pearls inside an air pocket
And carried back a valorous gift to mother

Tincture On A Shelf

You didn’t judge farewells all too well
Escaping duty without an explanation
When I ended us as clear as January ice
As final as hypothermic oblivion

You dropped off my earth like a mammoth in the new sun era
A faceless man without a map
Crippled by riddles hanging heavy
Over your horned, hooded brow
The mark of Cain, an air of dread
You’ll not ever acquire armistice under your flag
Your crowning breath will exhale a cutting, stale regret
Like a swelling carcinoma it nourishes off you now
Mushrooming, consuming your soul

While alone mothering our daughter
I breathe mercy while you slumber
Make amends, pick the balsam leaves
Ask forgiveness, apply the evergreen compress
In my home behind the kitchen hearth is a chamber
An ancient apothecary
Full of herbs gathered and dried, distilled since girlhood
Just for your signal of distress
There’s a tincture in a box on a shelf
Overlaid with dust and cobwebs

September Bride

Herald me like a harvest moon before a typhoon
Snatch a surge of gallantry, yielding the preparation
In a barbarian language rain down rehearsed words
Mutual attraction gathering fruition
September satellite tide infatuation, light the lantern
Tender devotion in the countryside

Common weed or rarest rhododendron?
My mother love so perfectly animal
Imperfectly human, ruined
All devotees in my eyes long ago
Does true love at first sight crop up anymore?

Drop your sickle, bathe back to me
Inhale river water lucid dream fortuity
Swallow your intoxicant and march out the valley
The autumn tide is favorable
For a September wedding fitzcarraldo

Refuse to gamble away the occasion
Silence the doubts of your judgment
Your friends’ logical excuses
Obliterate age and dismiss difference of culture
Or any other external circumstance
Be attendant to this moment
Rendezvous in the celestial elevator
Collect me for a light refreshment and anywhere

Receive me in the hurricane cockcrow

Typhoon Chrysalism

Antiquated autumn moon they’ll be no pyres for you tonight
No burning flesh altschmerg sacrifice
Drunken, smoking family circles retreat from your skies
Your seasonal rotting fruit eaten without satisfaction
The rabbit moon pestle pounds out tempest medicines
Storm elixirs dampen out all healing weekend moxibustion
The people’s summer ghost month prayers
Were deemed inadequate
Elderly folk forgot the exact time and directions to say their incantations
Google search forgotten rites and canticles akin to strangers
Hungry ancestors in their malcontent cry purgatory tears to form a cyclone
Whole clans weep together joining forces over the Pacific
They’re specific intention to deconstruct familiar traditions

Luckily for my neighbors my disbelief spared my whole prefecture
An alien continental rainbow hangs over my household like an amulet
Regardless of the multitude’s avowal
My nodus, the eye of the hurricane is this chrysalism apartment

Asteroid

Lay mother naked on the sofa
Open window, howling typhoon winds fill me
Quasar core empty vacuum
Don’t rise for fallen curtains blown to the floor

Acclimated to the hyperborean emptiness
Collapsar implosion on the inside
Cold dark moon damacloid
I reflect light for no one
Neutron star composed of mare deserts
I’m not the world or a planet
No Virgo clusters eclipsed in my throat
Uninhabitable scarp cliffs seen through a telescope

Space gravel orbit
I woo a SETI mission
Preeminent historic landing
One cosmonaut championed the ice caverns
Vibrate the aria of cosmic conception
Accretion disks transferred between two galactic nuclei
Render goodbye before we claim hello
Marvel in compressed moments
Qualified traveler from afar
I fabricate you a surpassing man than you merit

Dancing Crippled

Insects look like birds from my horizon
And break-lights like inevitable accidents
Bumper to bumper destruction in this enhanced, rear-view vision

Waiting for life to pound you out of me
Years of pushing, expelling, watching it, like a slow, bloody birthing delivery
Indestructible chord of continually regarding you
Lost in your silent chaos

Its all a game
Circumstance you deal your winning hand
You still don't stand a chance in breaking me
Fellows' deficient romance they come and go yet have no effect on me
Dropping money left and right
Empty all I have on worn, exiled passage nuisance
Blue collar well traveled vagrant princess
She has no talent at all
Only the art of spotting the genius, Jesus among the multitude, like a child

Laugh along with the Celestial Jokesmith
He's the funniest Being I ever wrestled
Walk away limping and crippled
I thought the paralyzed were supposed to be dancing?
A giggle before the howling laughter
Shimmy in this murkiness

Hunter's Tapestry

You momentarily bequeathed your body
Left your room, far-removed city
Graced me with your tarriance
Inside my recent morning dream
I still see it, recall lovingly stroke it with my memory
Like prayer beads incanting

Out of the blue abyss
Scale walls of cosmic coral, space and time anemone
To be with me
Lean over while I sit astounded, panting
Intentional timing tempt me
Your long torso hanging over like a hunter's tapestry
Upside down countenance interlacing like tree branches
Necessary kiss
Lightening consciousness, light up our afternoon volition aurora
Return me my voice of solar chariots
Options are the currency of choice
Your seeking out this fusion released my silence
Partially free, help unslave me
From this illusion of luminous intimacy

I've been devoid of poetry
Lost inspiration, flood rains white water gutters drown out everything
Rainbow omen enter my dream like a prophetic mystery
The Sun after the Flood
Your being a cosmic indicator directing me
Compass star map at my caressing fingertips

At the end I elect to leave you cold in space, the dove from Noah's old hand
Orbit some other star
Finish fresh before we started, I'm all intact and growing
Smell imminent defeat wasted battles in the skies
Turn around my posse caravan in the dark after midnight
Night winds cover my tracks
Return to present moment dawn oasis

Ripe dates drop like slow succulent raindrops in the shadow of my missing you
The outer skin cooked by continental growing desert suns
The driest of dune sandstorms, the color of your hair in my tent
Only increase the inner flesh natural sugar sweetness enclosed
In my mouth's greedy voraciousness
Relieve my thirst in your satiety

I've freely forgiven
Return to me centuries later
As first choice be renewed
My tiger pride unlocks mutual eminence, time falls off like shackles
