About Me

My photo
I just returned back to the States after 11 years in Taiwan with my daughter. Taiwan is an excellent base for us explore Asia, while living in relative (gun free) safety, while benefiting from a cheap and efficient national health care system. The people are amazing too. I have Taiwanese friendships that are 20 years old and I'm always making new ones! My coworker here in CO is from Taiwan.

We Three Birds Of Prey

We watched the storm coming from the highest island view
Marooned in this raincloud
Translucent silver mercurial cool pellets within a white light
Moving like a lover's breath across the turquoise water
Braced for it vulnerable and unprepared
Far away from the nearest protection, from raincoats hidden under scooters down the trail
Anticipate saturation we huddle soused in its mercy
Besieged for a good 5 minutes
The storm quickly passing
Running its course like a laugh

We three nautical faring birds of prey
Prancing around Vulcan's coral sea spray coast
Arousing saltwater mineral springs during the autumn night drizzle
Brave crowd, barely clothed
Making space in pools for each other
Not strangers anymore for just this moment

All Adorned With Blue

My Japanese drummer all painted blue ink torso tapestries of holy indigo
Skin labyrinth linked mythologies
Eyes as big as tea cups
Intense with wild fermented satchels of tenderness
The autumn showers its devotion on shadowed mountains as hair spills on bare shoulders
And so began October.

Beat your drum seated above the throng
Throned and seated before the temple drum
Unclothed your suit of armor, suit of ardor
The army of ancient oceanic mariners all adorned with blue.

The golden, colossal Buddha looks pre-Pharaonic,ancient as herculean as Babel
Yet its just a recent incarnation of an older Minotaur champion
Silky Tauren golden calf april Fool idolatry
Blasphemy transcended into non-attached sensuality.

Anchor yourself a season, a lifetime, or more
Either way I'm content as the lotus flower loses its petal blossoms
Seed studded semi-aquatic mystery
Finding roots on its own drowned shore.

Lift the veil

I could deal with the mistreatment from my masters
    their alien disregard
The cruel separation from my childhood friends
    and mountain homeland brothers
I could deal with my daughter's father's abandonment
I can carry the burden of debt
   and disappearing paychecks going nowhere

Catching a breath between the tears
when all the world is silent
At night forlorn and my true solitary self
A storm raining on the cratered Badlands
In between the space of the music
your voice murmers, " she is..."

I am at a loss
Anticipating you'll lift away the veil and witness what Ive conceived
          waiting these years, lingering
Wasting precious hope on one
        who thinks me so little
Correlated beside your statuesque prominence
